Issues That the Student Advisory Council are working on:
Issue One: College career readiness (lack of resources).
Issue Two: Violence in schools and communities.
Issue Three: Negative portrayal of schools in media.
Issue Four: Truancy.
Issue Five: Code of conduct (policies).

Restorative Justice Video:
The Student Advisory Council worked on a video in hopes of encouraging and promoting Restorative Justice practices in schools across the district. It was a concern among the Student Advisory Council on how can the percent of suspensions and explosion rate be lowered since the Student Code of Conduct revisions back in 2012.
Social Media Kit:
The Student Advisory Council recently worked on a social media kit, that would be sent to schools, that would teach schools administrators how to run a school social media page. That would shine light on schools and promote it good deeds and bring communities together.
New Cell Phone Policy:
Among the work that the Student Advisory Council has worked on, the SAC decided to work on the Chicago Public Schools phone policy. Proposing a new phone policy that would allow students and teachers to use phone and other electronic devices as a learning tool in classrooms.
New Lunch Policy:
The Student Advisory Council members currently worked on a new lunch policy that would allow students to bring in certain foods into their schools, of course, with restrictions and guide lines on what type of food can be brought into public schools. This would help Chicago Public Schools mission of creating a healthy school district.
